Delhi Metro records highest-ever 82.44 lakh daily boardings amid DTC bus strike
Delhi Metro recorded its highest-ever daily passenger boardings on September 17, at 82.44 lakh, amid the ongoing strike by Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus drivers.
The strike, which began on September 15, is over demands including a minimum daily wage of ₹2,000, annual bonus, payment for working on government holidays and medical insurance.
The 82,44,903 boardings surpassed the previous record of 81,87,674 recorded on August 8 last year, according to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). To cater to the increased demand, the corporation operated 32 additional trips on Thursday.
