Delhi High Court issues notice to Abhijit Iyer Mitra, media portals in privacy case by CJP’s Saurav Das

The Delhi High Court on Monday (August 24, 2026) sought responses from political commentator Abhijit Iyer Mitra and several media portals and platforms in a plea filed by Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) spokesperson Saurav Das, who alleged that his residential address and other personal details were made public without his consent.
Mr. Das approached the court seeking protection of his privacy , dignity and personal security, along with damages for the alleged violation of his privacy.
Justice Sachin Datta issued summons and notices to Mr. Mitra, X, Google, and several media platforms. The matter is scheduled to be heard next on September 14.
In his plea, Mr. Das sought a permanent and mandatory order restraining the defendants from publishing, circulating or otherwise disclosing his residential address. He has also sought directions for the removal of videos and posts containing such information and for disabling public access to them.
