Delhi HC asks AITA, original petitioners to file replies

The Delhi High Court has ordered the All India Tennis Association and original petitioners to file replies regarding the potential inclusion of the AITA Trust and the Delhi Lawn Tennis Association in ongoing constitutional amendment proceedings. The court also extended the deadline for fresh elections to November 27.
Why it matters
This legal intervention addresses governance and financial transparency issues within a major national sports body in India.
The Delhi High Court has asked the All India Tennis Association (AITA) and the original petitioners led by former player Somdev Devvarman to file replies to the Court-appointed administrator Justice (retd.) Gita Mittal’s request to implead the AITA Trust and the Delhi Lawn Tennis Association (DLTA) in the ongoing proceedings to amend the AITA’s Constitution.
In the hearing held on September 25, the order of which was released recently, the Court said that rejoinders, if any, to AITA’s replies should be filed by November 6, the date when the matter will be heard again.
Justice Mittal, in her report dated September 14, had alleged large-scale financial misconduct and accused the office-bearers of stonewalling requests for documents and information.
