Delhi ACB arrests Satyendar Jain, five others over STP tender ‘irregularities’

The Delhi Anti Corruption Branch (ACB) on Tuesday arrested Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Water Minister Satyendar Kumar Jain, former Delhi Jal Board (DJB) CEO Udit Prakash Rai, and four others in connection with alleged irregularities in the tendering process for upgradation of sewage treatment plants (STPs) in the national capital.
According to a statement issued by the ACB, the arrests were made in connection with a case registered by the agency on May 11, 2024, under Sections 7, 7A, 9 and 13 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and Sections 420, 409, 418 and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code. The case was registered following a complaint by the Delhi government’s Directorate of Vigilance.
