A delegation of Members of Parliament from Karnataka’s Kalyana Karnataka region, led by Radhakrishna Doddamani, Kalaburagi MP, met Union Minister for Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju to request major developmental projects under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) for minority-concentrated areas in the State.
The delegation included MPs G. Kumar Naik (Raichur), Prabha Mallikarjun (Davangere), E. Tukaram (Ballari), and Rajashekar Hitnal (Koppal).
During the meeting, they submitted a comprehensive representation highlighting the critical need for targeted infrastructure, education, healthcare, and livelihood interventions across the region’s minority-heavy blocks and urban local bodies.
The delegation emphasised that Kalyana Karnataka remained historically underserved despite holding special constitutional status under Article 371(J). They urged the Ministry to roll out focused interventions across seven key districts: Bidar, Kalaburagi, Yadgir, Raichur, Koppal, Ballari, and Vijayanagara.
