Defence minister to visit Visakhapatnam in October
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to visit Visakhapatnam on October 5, 2026, to inaugurate naval infrastructure projects at the Hindustan Shipyard Limited. He will also travel to Odisha to lay the foundation for new Shakti Engine facilities at HAL.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will visit Visakhapatnam on October 5, 2026, to bolster India’s defence infrastructure by participating in key naval and aerospace development milestones.
During his visit to the Port City, he will visit Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) Dockyard, where he will inaugurate Slipway 4, preside over the keel laying of FSS-4, and formally launch FSS-1.
Following these major maritime milestones, the Minister will travel to Sunabeda in Odisha’s Koraput district to unveil the foundation stone for the establishment of new facilities dedicated to the Shakti Engine at HAL.
