Deep conspiracy to bring in ultra-leftist mindset: Fadnavis slams Congress as ‘anti-constitutional’

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis criticized the Congress party and the INDIA Bloc for protesting at the Supreme Court, labeling their actions as an 'anti-constitutional' conspiracy. The protest followed a petition filed by Rahul Gandhi regarding electoral roll irregularities.
Why it matters
This reflects ongoing political tensions in India regarding the independence of constitutional institutions and the role of the opposition.
Expressing surprise at the Opposition’s morcha on the Supreme Court on Monday (October 12, 2026), Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis called it a deep conspiracy “to bring in ultra-Leftist mindset” in the country.
“Congress wants to create anarchy in the country. It is a conspiracy to undermine the Constitution written by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and the institutions created by him. They don’t believe in democracy, in the Constitution. They want to create a sentiment in the country that these institutions created by the Constitution are not able to give justice,” he said while speaking with reporters in Nagpur on Monday (October 12).
