Decomposed body of woman found in car in Ernakulam

The decomposed body of a woman was reportedly found inside a largely abandoned car parked at an apartment complex at Choornikkara near Aluva on Thursday (September 17, 2026).

The deceased was identified as Anila Thomas, a native of Kalladikode in Mannarkad in Palakkad. The body was found on the rear seat of a car owned by another resident of the apartment complex. The vehicle had not been used for a long time after its road tax expired and was therefore largely overlooked.

The post-mortem examination will be conducted on Friday (September 18, 2026).
