The body of a 23-year-old pregnant woman, who went missing on August 26, was found in a decomposed state in a gunny bag inside a farm well at Pachaliyur on Thursday (September 3). Police identified the deceased as P. Gokila, a resident of Konganapuram.
According to police, Gokila was reportedly in a relationship with M. Ammasi (26), a labourer. On August 20, her parents took her to Samudram Primary Health Centre after she took ill, and the doctors there told them that she was seven months pregnant. On August 21, her parents lodged a complaint with the Sankari All Women Police, and Ammasi appeared before the police. During talks at the police station, Gokila and Ammasi reportedly decided to get married, and she accompanied Ammasi to his home.
