A national conference of political leaders, legal experts, former government officials and governance specialists has called for an inclusive national dialogue , strengthening of democratic institutions and meaningful devolution of political, administrative and financial powers to ensure sustainable governance reforms in Pakistan.

The Lahore Declaration , issued after the conference organised by The University of Lahore and the Centre for Policy and Nation Building (CPNB), emphasised that Pakistan's future prosperity, democratic stability and national cohesion depend on a governance system that brings decision-making closer to citizens, ensures constitutional certainty and improves delivery of public services.
