DCI launches probe into alleged abduction of businessman Jimmy Mutava in Mlolongo

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Anti-Abduction Unit have launched investigations into the reported disappearance of businessman Jimmy Mutava. According to the DCI, Mutava’s disappearance was reported on July 27, 2026, at Mlolongo Police Station. A CCTV footage reviewed recently showed armed men forcing him into a waiting vehicle in Mlolongo, Machakos County, shortly after he had met a senior police officer attached to Mlolongo Police Station. The DCI said detectives are pursuing several persons of interest as they work to establish the circumstances surrounding the reported incident. “The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) wishes to inform the public that detectives from the DCI Anti-Abduction Unit have taken over investigations into the reported alleged abduction of Jimmy Mutava, following a report made at Mlolongo Police Station on 27th July 2026,” the detectives said in a statement on Sunday.
