Muzzaffargarh - Deputy Commissioner Usman Tahir Jappa on Saturday visited the two-day Mango Festival 2026 at Faiz Park and reviewed the arrangements made for the event being held under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected mango exhibition, agricultural and information stalls, and met orchard owners, farmers, agricultural experts and exporters. He discussed matters relating to mango production, processing, grading, packaging, value addition and export promotion. He said the Punjab government was taking practical measures to strengthen the agriculture sector, encourage growers and expand access of local agricultural products to international markets. The Deputy Commissioner directed the relevant departments to ensure foolproof cleanliness, security, parking, safe drinking water, lighting and other public facilities for visitors. He said citizens should be provided with a safe and pleasant environment throughout the festival. The festival showcases premium mango varieties from Muzaffargarh and other districts of South Punjab, while government departments have established information stalls to educate farmers on modern agricultural practices, processing techniques and export opportunities.
