DC orders inquiry into allegations against BJP trying to file bulk objections against eligible voters

Mohammad Roshan, Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer (DEO), has ordered an inquiry into allegations by Congress leaders that some BJP leaders were trying to file bulk objections against eligible voters in Belagavi.

He also held a meeting with representative of political parties, following the allegations.

“The Elector Registration Officer (ERO) will conduct an inquiry and submit a report. Action will be taken against anyone who is found guilty of any violation,” he told reporters here on Thursday.

“We have told the political parties that the Election Commission of India had issued several guidelines and safeguards to protect the rights of eligible voters. The issue has been resolved after they understood the rules and regulations,” he said.
