DC Msando hands over WASH project at Kimara Secondary

The Flaviana Matata Foundation has completed a WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) infrastructure project at Kimara Secondary School in Dar es Salaam. The facility includes new toilets, handwashing stations, and private areas to improve menstrual hygiene and school attendance for girls.

THE Flaviana Matata Foundation (FMF) today handed over a project aimed at improving Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) infrastructure at Kimara Secondary School in Dar es Salaam.
The project, implemented by FMF with funding from the foundation’s friends in the United States, includes 13 toilet cubicles for female students, a handwashing facility, a dedicated room for students with special needs, a private room for girls, a tank for storing clean and safe water, and a designated incineration area for waste, including used sanitary pads.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, FMF Executive Director Flaviana Matata said the foundation was delighted to achieve its goal of helping improve school infrastructure in the country.
