The Uttar Pradesh Dairy Department has sent grant amount of more than ₹11 crore to the bank accounts of about 1,200 beneficiaries of Jhansi, Kanpur and Chitrakoot Dham divisions through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), the State government said on Monday (September 14, 2026).

A dairy conclave of the three divisions was held in Jhansi on September 11, 2026, with theme of women participation and entrepreneurship in dairy development and contribution to dairy economy. The objective of the conclave was to disseminate the advantages of various public welfare initiatives to eligible beneficiaries and promote rural economy.

During the conclave, a fund of ₹13.5 crore was released under the 2022 Milk Policy for various projects in these areas. About 22 new multipurpose milk cooperatives were handed official registration certificates after their formation, Dhanalakshmi K., Uttar Pradesh Dairy Commissioner, told The Hindu.
