Davangere University to introduce skill-based programmes from current academic year
Davangere University is launching new skill-based postgraduate diploma and certificate courses to improve student employability. The initiative focuses on multidisciplinary education and entrepreneurship through industry collaborations.

With an aim to enhance the skills of the students, Davangere University plans to introduce various postgraduate diploma and certificate courses alongside undergraduate and postgraduate programmes from the current academic year.
Addressing reporters in Davangere on Tuesday, Vice-Chancellor B.E. Rangaswamy said that the focus was on skill-based education. “Emphasis is being placed on multidisciplinary education, with the objective of offering vocational, skill-oriented, and employment-generating degree programmes,” he said.
Mr. Rangaswamy said that these courses were aimed at equipping students with specialised knowledge in their chosen fields and prepare them for employment or self-employment.
