Data forum kicks off in Zanzibar
Zanzibar is hosting the three-day Data Tamasha Africa 2026 forum, which focuses on digital innovation, data-driven governance, and AI solutions. The event brings together hundreds of delegates to discuss how African institutions can leverage data for sustainable development.

ZANZIBAR: ZANZIBAR is hosting Data Tamasha Africa 2026, bringing together more than 300 delegates, over 100 organisations and participants from 30 countries.
The three-day event kicked off yesterday, positioning the Isles as a growing hub for digital innovation, data-driven development and digital governance.
Co-hosted by the Tanzania Data Lab (dLab) and Pollicy Uganda, in collaboration with the Zanzibar Ministry of Communication, Information Technology and Innovation, the forum showcases how African institutions and innovators are moving beyond dialogue to building practical solutions using data, digital technologies and artificial intelligence.
Opening the event, Zanzibar’s Minister for Communication, Information Technology and Innovation, Mr Mudrik Ramadhan Soraga, said the Isles are honoured to host the gathering.
