Dasara illumination must have a new look: George

Minister for Energy K.J. George on Friday directed officials to ensure that the illumination planned for the 2026 Mysuru Dasara is more attractive and innovative than last year.

He was speaking at a preparatory review meeting on various Dasara programmes held at the Karnataka Engineers’ Association hall in Kadakola near Mysuru.

“Last year’s illumination was done well. This time, it should be designed differently and more attractively. As lakhs of tourists are expected to visit Mysuru during Dasara, the illumination should appeal to the public,” he said.

Mr. George also directed officials to make adequate arrangements to ensure that the additional power demand arising from the illumination does not lead to any shortage or disruption during Dasara.

“There have been no problems with power supply for illumination so far. Continuous monitoring should be undertaken to ensure that there are no issues this year either,” he said.
