The Mysuru City police has constituted teams across different police stations in the City to monitor social media round the clock with a view to check the spread of false information during Dasara.

Addressing a press conference in Mysuru on Friday, City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar said a total of 20 social media monitoring teams comprising 58 trained personnel had been formed across the police stations in the City as well as the Office of the Commissioner of Police to monitor social media.

“The teams will identify those spreading false information and rumours that could create panic among the public and initiate legal action against them,” she said.

The City police have also launched the Mysuru Dasara 2026 Visitor Portal , which will provide updated information about festival programmes in Kannada and English from October 11 to 21.
