Danon At The UN: "You Ignore The Crimes Of Hamas And Spread Lies About Israel"

Israel's UN ambassador Danny Danon accused a UN representative of bias for failing to mention Hamas in a report on conflict-related violations. The UN official countered that Israel has blocked investigators from accessing Gaza to verify claims.
Why it matters
This exchange underscores the deep diplomatic friction and conflicting narratives regarding accountability and transparency in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, clashed with Vanessa Frazier, the UN secretary-general’s special representative for children and armed conflict, during a UN committee meeting, accusing her of overlooking Hamas’s crimes and publishing false information about Israel.
Danon criticized what he described as the absence of any mention of Hamas in a report documenting more than 12,000 violations related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
He said the omission was particularly serious given Hamas’s use of children as human shields, recruitment of minors and conversion of schools into military bases.
