Dame Noeline Taurua signs new deal as Silver Ferns coach for Netball World Cup

Dame Noeline Taurua will remain at the helm of the Silver Ferns through to the end of next year’s Netball World Cup.
The 2019 World Cup-winning coach has signed a contract extension after leading New Zealand to Commonwealth Games gold in Glasgow . Assistant coach Briony Akle and the rest of the management team will also stay on.
Confirmation of Taurua’s future comes ahead of next month’s Constellation Cup series against the Australian Diamonds, who will be determined to make a statement after failing to reach the Commonwealth final.
Taurua’s contract extension comes just over a year after she was spectacularly stood down as coach after player complaints . She was reinstated two months later and cleared of any wrongdoing.
Netball New Zealand chief executive Jennah Wootten reaffirmed the organisation’s confidence in Taurua’s leadership.
