Dali has released the Basik Sub, an 8-inch active subwoofer designed to complement their bookshelf speakers by enhancing low-frequency performance. The unit features 220W peak power, multiple finish options, and adjustable settings to suit various room acoustics.

Dali has launched the Basik Sub, an 8-inch active subwoofer that pairs 220W of peak power with its Kupid and Sonik 1 bookshelf speakers.
Bookshelf speakers have grown more popular in the last year alongside affordable streaming amplifiers and turntables. A subwoofer lets those smaller cabinets reproduce low frequencies they cannot manage alone, while offering more flexible placement than a floor-standing speaker in smaller living spaces.
An in-house designed 8-inch down-firing woofer sits at the centre of Basik Sub and pairs a paper-pulp membrane with an oversized ferrite magnet and high-flux motor system. A long, vented voice coil helps it stay cool at higher listening levels while the down-firing layout spreads bass evenly.
A Class-D amplifier drives that woofer with 170W of RMS power and 220W at peak, and Dali pairs it with a switch-mode power supply to keep both consumption and heat generation low.
