Dairy farmer’s death: father seeks probe to expose suspected accomplices

The father of a murdered dairy farmer in Kozhikode has requested a deeper investigation, suspecting that the arrested suspect did not act alone. Police maintain the motive was personal enmity related to the victim's attempt to help the suspect with mental health treatment.
Why it matters
The case highlights the intersection of mental health issues, social violence, and the demand for thorough criminal investigations.
The father of B. Biju, 38, the dairy farmer who was allegedly murdered at his house near the Palayam bus stand in Kozhikode city, has sought a fresh investigation into the possibility that the accused youth arrested in connection with the incident received external support in carrying out the crime.
Rajan, the victim’s father, on Friday (July 24) said the accused, T.M. Deepak, was addicted to drugs and was unlikely to have committed the crime on his own. He appealed to the police to quiz Deepak’s close friends, alleging that they would have more information about the circumstances leading to the crime.
He also claimed that Biju had survived attempts on his life in the past and said that those incidents should be examined as part of a comprehensive investigation.
