Nigeria’s D’Tigers face a crucial test in their bid to qualify for the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup when the second round of the African qualifiers gets under way later this month.
The 12 remaining African teams have been divided into Groups E and F, with the fourth qualifying window scheduled for August 24 to September 1, 2026.
Nigeria are in Group E alongside Cameroon, South Sudan, Guinea, Tunisia and Cape Verde, with their matches to be played in Radès, Tunisia.
D’Tigers will open their campaign against Cameroon on August 27 before facing South Sudan the following day. They will round off the window against Cape Verde on August 30.
Nigeria boast a strong record against two of their three opponents. They have beaten Cameroon three times in four meetings and won both previous encounters against South Sudan.
