Hailing women as original creators, for whom building and growing anything new is only natural, Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar on Wednesday drew an analogy from the Ramayana to drive home his point.
Speaking at a session on “Empowering Women to Build a More Secure Tomorrow” organised in partnership with Ubuntu Consortium and Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI), he said, “Sita’s role in the epic is more powerful than that of Ram. The sacrifices of Sita were great, the struggles she faced were incomparable. She managed society, managed her sons, maintained purity.”
