Cyberabad SHE Teams nab 24 persons for indecent acts in public spaces

Twenty-four persons were caught allegedly indulging in indecent acts at public places during 145 decoy operations conducted by Cyberabad SHE Teams in a week, while the teams also received 31 complaints from women.
The operations were conducted between September 12 and 18. Police booked 18 petty cases against those caught and conducted counselling.
During the same period, the Cyberabad Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) rescued five victims and apprehended 10 persons in three cases booked under the Prevention of Immoral Traffic Act.
Meanwhile, efforts through Family Counselling Centres and CDEW Centres helped reunite 35 families following disputes between spouses, police said.
The SHE Teams and AHTU also conducted awareness programmes across Cyberabad, reaching around 3,668 people. The sessions covered human and child trafficking, harassment of women, stalking, social media harassment, child marriage, child rights, child labour, begging, cyberbullying and cyber fraud, besides emergency and helpline services.
