CVC flags glitches in Coimbatore Corporation’s online property-tax payment system

Citizens’ Voice Coimbatore (CVC) has urged the Coimbatore Corporation to address glitches in its online property-tax payment system and ensure that digital payment facilities function reliably at its collection centres.
In a representation to Corporation Commissioner, the CVC said taxpayers had reported repeated attempts to access the online portal, with some unable to complete payments because the system was inaccessible, froze or failed during transactions.
It also said taxpayers visiting collection centres were on occasions unable to make payments through UPI and other digital modes because of connectivity issues. The CVC urged the corporation to provide an alternative payment mechanism when the online system or digital payment facilities were unavailable.
