The power went out across the island late Sunday and then slowly returned on Monday, but much of Cuba remains disconnected after the grid failed once more.
Two units at the Energas gas-fired plant at Boca de Jaruco, east of Havana, were being reconnected to the grid on Monday, said state utility Union Electrica de Cuba (UNE).
