CRPF IG A. Srinivas from Visakhapatnam retires after 34 years; served in Kashmir, Kosovo
CRPF Inspector-General A. Srinivas has retired after a 34-year career serving in high-conflict zones including Kashmir and Kosovo. He was recognized for his distinguished service and contributions to the force during a farewell ceremony in Hyderabad.

A. Srinivas, Inspector-General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), retired on August 31 after a career spanning over three decades.
Mr. Srinivas hails from Visakhapatnam and studied at MR College, Vizianagaram. He joined the CRPF in 1991 as a DSP.
During his career, he served across India, including in Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, the northeast, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
He served during the most difficult and violence-prone periods in Jammu and Kashmir, including the Kargil war and the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A. During his operational tenure in Kashmir, he took part in a number of anti-terrorist operations.
He also served with the United Nations Mission in Kosovo, where he was awarded a UN Medal after saving the life of an American police officer.
