The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Post Graduate Teachers Association (TNDAPGTA) have demanded the State government to create Post Graduate (PG) assistant teacher posts for Tamil and English at 53 schools run by the Adi Dravidar Welfare Department.
Across the State, the Adi Dravidar Welfare Department, which comes under the Social Justice Ministry, runs 98 higher secondary schools, where 9,221 students are studying, including 4,374 students in Class XI and 4,847 in Class XII. Recently, the State government upgraded four high schools run by the Adi Dravidar Welfare Department in Krishnagiri, Tiruchi, Ariyalur, and Salem districts as higher secondary schools.
