The Communist Party of India (CPI) on Tuesday (September 1, 2026) accused the Centre of pursuing pro-corporate policies and sought to intensify its political agitation against the Narendra Modi government.
The party held a public meeting at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan at the conclusion of its nationwide padyatras, organised from August 6 to 15 against the government, under the slogan “Badlaav zaroori hai” (change is essential).
Addressing the rally, CPI general secretary D. Raja accused the BJP-led government at the Centre of running a “fascist regime”. “Poor people across the country are being deprived of their fundamental rights. The government is corporatising public sector undertakings. The education system has been demolished,” Mr. Raja said.
