CPI seeks probe into Bal Sanjeevani tenders in Andhra Pradesh

CPI Andhra Pradesh secretary G. Eswaraiah has urged Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to order an independent inquiry into alleged irregularities in the tendering of the Bal Sanjeevani and Bal Sanjeevani Tribal nutrition schemes, alleging that the process has resulted in an estimated ₹29.22 crore additional burden on the exchequer.
In a letter to the Chief Minister on Thursday, Mr. Eswaraiah alleged that the tender conditions favoured a few large contractors and denied a level playing field to smaller firms and women’s self-help groups. He sought cancellation of the contracts awarded to Kendriya Bhandar and NCCF, and fresh tenders on a district-wise basis.
