The Communist Party of India (CPI) State secretary G. Eswaraiah on Monday demanded a comprehensive investigation into the death of 15-year-old tribal student Murram Shivani and urged the Andhra Pradesh government to ascertain the circumstances that led to her alleged suicide.
In a statement, Mr. Eswaraiah said the death of the Class X student from Irlapalli Kotha Colony in Rampachodavaram mandal had raised several unanswered questions and called for a transparent inquiry to establish the facts behind the incident.
Recalling Shivani’s participation in the Mega Parent-Teacher Association meeting held in Rampachodavaram in the presence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, he said she had spoken with confidence and enthusiasm, earning appreciation from those present. Describing her as a bright student with a promising future, he said her sudden death was both shocking and tragic.
