CPI(M) protests milk price hike at Vijaya Dairy in Vijayawada

The Communist Party of India-Marxist staged a protest at Vijaya Dairy, demanding the immediate withdrawal of the ₹2 per litre increase in milk prices in Vijayawada on Tuesday (September 22, 2026). The protest coincided with the assumption of charge by the newly appointed Vijaya Dairy Chairman Dasari Balavardhan Rao.
CPI(M) leaders, who reached the dairy to submit a memorandum against the price hike, were stopped by the security personnel and police at the main gate, leading to a brief argument. The protesters subsequently pushed through the gate and entered the premises, creating tension for some time.
Vijaya Dairy Managing Director Kolli Eswara Babu spoke to the protesters and took their representation to the Chairman. The CPI(M) leaders later met Mr. Balavardhan Rao and submitted a memorandum seeking immediate withdrawal of the increased prices.
