Communist Party of India [CPI(M)] leader A.A. Rahim, MP, on Saturday accused the UDF government of “insulting” the fishing community. Mr. Rahim visited the home of John, a fisherman who went missing at sea from Pulluvila in Vizhinjam, and the families of those affected by the recent tragedy at Muthalappozhi. He also visited the accident site at Muthalappozhi and assessed the situation and the rescue efforts. He questioned the State government’s response to these incidents.
