CPI(M) Keralam State committee to directly address local organisational issues
CPI(M) Kerala State secretary M.V. Govindan announced that the party's state committee will directly intervene to resolve grassroots organizational issues. The move follows a review of recent electoral setbacks and aims to address leadership behavior and counter the influence of right-wing forces.
Why it matters
This represents a significant shift in internal party management for a major political force in Kerala, signaling an attempt to consolidate power and address internal dissent.
Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] Keralam State secretary M.V. Govindan has said that the party State committee will directly intervene to sort out organisational issues being raised at the grassroots level.
He was addressing the media on the sidelines of the three-day extended State committee meeting of the CPI(M) in Kozhikode on Sunday (September 13, 2026). Mr. Govindan said that the district and area committees were facing different kinds of regional problems. Instead of entrusting the district committees to find a solution to them on their own, the State leadership was planning to step in to address them. In every three months or at least once in six months, the State committee would also examine if the corrective steps were being implemented properly.
