CPI(M) demands super specialty hospital status for RIMS, Srikakulam

CPI-M Srikakulam District Secretary D. Govinda Rao on Tuesday urged the State government to take steps to immediately upgrade the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, into a super specialty hospital, as was promised during the 2024 general elections by NDA leaders, including Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Addressing a press conference, Mr. Govinda alleged that the government had failed to appoint adequate doctors and medical staff even though the hospital bed strength had increased from 350 to 900 over the last few years.
He claimed that specialist doctors were not available in several departments, including cardiology, and pediatrics.
