Communist Party of India (CPI) State Secretariat member J.V. Satyanarayana Murthy on Friday (August 7, 2026) said the Narendra Modi-led Union government had failed to fulfil the promises made to the people and was attempting to divert attention from public issues by targeting youth movements.
Launching the party’s padayatra from the Alluri Sitarama Raju statue at Poorna Market under the “Modi Hatao, Desh Bachao” campaign, he said the nationwide programme began on August 6 and would culminate in a rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on September 1.
