COVID-19 vaccination 2026 – Who's eligible, cost and where to book in S'pore; Fake pilot on Tinder who promised marriage, pushed woman into sex work jailed 8 years: Singapore live news
Singapore's Ministry of Health has updated its COVID-19 vaccination schedule to include new vaccine formulations starting October 12. Separately, an Italian national was sentenced to eight years in prison for human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
Why it matters
The update ensures continued public health protection against evolving virus strains, while the criminal sentencing highlights Singapore's strict stance on human exploitation.
COVID-19 vaccination will be added to Singapore's national childhood and adult immunisation schedules from 12 Oct, with updated XFG versions of the Moderna/Spikevax and Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty vaccines rolled out at more than 600 GP clinics, all polyclinics and mobile vaccination sites, the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Communicable Diseases Agency said on Wednesday (7 Oct). The vaccine is recommended for people aged 60 and above, medically vulnerable people aged six months and above, and residents of aged care facilities, while healthcare workers and those living or working with vulnerable individuals are also encouraged to get it, and anyone else aged six months and above may still choose to do so.
