Court rejects bail for two more CPI(M) activists in ED attack case

The Thiruvananthapuram District and Sessions Court on Wednesday rejected the bail applications of two more CPI(M) activists who are accused of allegedly attacking Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials during a raid at Leader of Opposition Pinarayi Vijayan’s residence. The court had denied bail to seven other accused on Tuesday.
As a result, the total number of accused persons who have been denied bail in the case has gone up to 22.
Meanwhile, former Attukal ward councillor Unnikrishnan, who is also an accused in the case, has filed a fresh petition seeking permission to attend to his critically ill father. His bail plea had been rejected earlier. The court is scheduled to consider the petition on Friday.
