Title-chasing Nottinghamshire are closing in on an extraordinary victory against Hampshire on a day in which 19 wickets fell at Trent Bridge.

After the visitors were bowled out for 304 in their first innings before lunch, Hampshire, mired at the foot of the County Championship table and 73 behind on first innings, transformed the home side's 13 without loss to 47-6.

Eddie Jack, who turned 21 on Wednesday, swept aside the top three in 17 balls and 17-year-old Manny Lumsden, on debut, had two in his first seven.
