The Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH) has called on research funding institutions across Africa to strengthen collaboration in order to develop joint solutions to challenges affecting the continent, including agriculture, health and climate change.
COSTECH Director General Dr Amos Nungu said the challenges transcend national borders and therefore require researchers and funding institutions to work together.
Speaking on Tuesday at the Strengthening the Capacity of Research and Development Institutions in Africa (SGCI) All Partners Meeting in Windhoek, Dr Nungu said such collaboration would succeed if national institutions had the capacity to set priorities, manage funds and ensure that research findings were put into use.
