Corruption cases set for court this week

The Judiciary/FILE Several corruption-related cases involving unexplained wealth, alleged fraudulent acquisition of public funds, irregular procurement, forgery and recovery of public property are set to be in court this week.

The cases listed by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission include hearings and mentions scheduled between September 21 and 25.

Among the cases scheduled for hearing is a suit involving Kyaloka Property Development Company Limited and four others over the recovery of public land in Karen valued at Sh1.255 billion. The property, identified as LR No 6861/1, is the subject of a hearing at the Milimani Anti-Corruption Court on September 23.

A separate case involving a former Kenyatta National Hospital chief executive will be heard at the same court on September 22. The suit seeks recovery of Sh229.4 million in unexplained bank credits and the value of landed properties allegedly acquired while the respondent was employed as the hospital's chief executive.
