Corruption cases in court this week

The Judiciary/ FILE Several corruption and public property cases will be handled in courts across the country this week, with matters involving alleged embezzlement, fraudulent acquisition of public property, procurement irregularities and illegal allocation of public land.
The cases are among those listed by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) for October 5 to 9.
A ruling is scheduled for October 8 in the case involving former Machakos County chief officer of health Collins Sila and two others.
They are charged with wilful failure to comply with the law relating to the management of public property and unlawful acquisition of public property. The allegations relate to the alleged misappropriation of Sh67 million donated by the Danish International Development Agency and the World Health Organization. The matter will be handled at the Machakos Law Court.
Several other cases will be heard during the week.
