For days now, faculty members at the Ivy League school have been looking for signs that the university’s leadership and its response would be focused on the students and their well-being.
David Bateman, a professor of government and president of the Cornell chapter of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP), said faculty and students have been left feeling “betrayed and ignored” by various levels of the institution.
The Cornell chapter of the AAUP represents faculty, adjuncts, librarians, post-doctoral candidates and academic staff at the university.
