PUNE: Pune Rural Police on Wednesday brought accused Chetan Chaudhary to Lohagad Fort and conducted a crime scene recreation and gait analysis of Chetan as part of the investigation into the murder of Ketan Agrawal, officials said. The exercise, which lasted around two to three hours, was carried out to reconstruct the sequence of events related to the case. Following the procedure, the accused was taken back into police custody. Gait analysis, which involves the scientific study of a person’s walking pattern, is being used as part of the probe to help investigators identify or verify individuals based on CCTV footage or video evidence.Police officials said the recreation was conducted using a dummy designed according to the victim’s weight to simulate the circumstances more accurately.Additional superintendent of police (Addl. SP), Pune Rural, Shubham Kumar said that Chetan Chaudhary was taken for the scene reconstruction and he described the sequence of events of the day.He added that the investigation is currently underway and that the dummy used during the exercise was designed according to Ketan’s weight."We took Chetan Chaudhary for the scene reconstruction and he told us about the sequence of events of that day. Investigation is underway. The dummy was designed according to the weight of Ketan, ” Shubham said.So far, investigators had conducted a crime scene reconstruction only with co-accused Siya Goyal, making Wednesday's exercise a key step in corroborating the sequence of events. On Tuesday, police had temporarily closed Lohagad Fort to visitors to facilitate the investigation. Tourists present at the site were evacuated before officers began forensic and investigative procedures. The fort had also been shut earlier when police recreated the crime scene with Goyal. Ketan Agrawal died after falling from Lohagad Fort near Pune on June 18. Investigators suspect that the incident was not accidental.According to Lonavala Rural Police, the prime accused, Siya Goyal—who was engaged to Agrawal—was allegedly unwilling to marry at this stage of her life and was under family pressure to proceed with the marriage.Police allege that Goyal, along with her friend Chetan Chaudhary, conspired to kill Agrawal. The two were arrested on June 23 and remain in police custody as the investigation continues. In the aftermath of the case, the Maharashtra government approved the establishment of a fast-track court to ensure a speedy trial and appointed senior advocate and Rajya Sabha MP Ujjwal Nikam as the Special Public Prosecutor. You Can Also Check: Gold Rate in Pune | Silver Rate in Pune | Bank Holidays in Pune | Public Holidays in Pune | Petrol Price in Pune | Diesel Price in Pune | CNG Price in Pune | LPG Price in PuneStay updated with the latest Pune news.
