Convicted murderer recorded himself planning to kidnap a teenager

A convicted murderer has received a second life jail term for the knifepoint kidnap in broad daylight of a 15-year-old girl who he went on to sexually assault.

Paul Sharpe, 56, bundled his teenage victim into a car in Altrincham, Greater Manchester, on 18 May.

Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court heard Sharpe - jailed in 2001 for murdering an ex-partner - had been to the area months before and had recorded voice memos detailing his planned "abduction point".

Sharpe, from Portswood, Stockport, was ordered to serve a minimum of eight years in jail before he can be considered for release by the Parole Board.
