A large number of contract and outsourcing employees staged a protest at the Gandhi statue at the GVMC on Friday, demanding regularisation and equal pay for equal work. A.V. Nageswara Rao, honorary chairman of the AP Contract and Outsourcing Employees, Teachers and Workers JAC, urged the government to regularise employees who had been working for years. He warned that three lakh employees would march to the Assembly if the government failed to act. JAC State chairman Kantarao (Nani) said conferences were being held in four regions and warned of phased protests across the State.
