A conservation and development centre for the Nilgiri Marten and Nilgiri Pipit was opened at the Government Arts College campus in Udhagamandalam on Saturday.
The centre, established by the Forest Department at a cost of ₹25 lakh, was inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Forest Minister R.V. Ranjith Kumar in the presence of the Nilgiris District Collector Lakshmi Bhavya Tanneeru, Field Director of the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve R. Kiruba Shankar, and the Divisional Forest Officer, the Nilgiris, Kashyap Shashank Ravi.
