Consensus on V-C appointment reached during previous LDF government’s tenure: Higher Education Minister Roji M. John
Higher Education Minister Roji M. John clarified that the appointment of Vice-Chancellors for two Kerala universities was settled during the previous LDF government's term. The minister noted that the Supreme Court case regarding these appointments has been closed as it is no longer relevant.

Higher Education Minister Roji M. John has stated that the settlement regarding the appointments of the Vice-Chancellors (V-C) to A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technological University and Digital University Kerala (DUK) were finalised during the previous Left Democratic Front (LDF) government’s tenure.
In a statement issued here, the Minister said that the dispute surrounding the appointments arose during the LDF regime.
At the time, both the State government and the Chancellor approached the Supreme Court, which subsequently referred the matter to its Special Lok Adalat for mediation.
Subsequently, regular V-Cs were appointed to both the universities based on a mutual understanding reached between both parties. The appointees also assumed their respective offices.
